My heart grieves. The article below says that the US currently has the lowest birth rate since 1987. I gave birth to our 2nd son in 1987. His name means "Gift of God." He truly IS a great gift from God, as are all of our sons.
I am dismayed that Americans are trading precious children in for aborticide, pets, materialism, power, money, "success" and a myriad of empty substitutes for life. What are we doing? We're literally killing our souls and our future.
Only one of many practical consequences of the genocide of the next generation is that we're killing our future economy. Who is going to take care of you in your old age? Have you at least replaced yourselves, husbands and wives, by having a minimum of two children? And why not have at least four, to insure a robust future for your family?
Another thing I'm noticing is that grandparents have no vision for inspiring their children to give them lots of grandchildren. My vision includes a modest number of 15 grandchildren. That's only 5 per son. I'm engaging my children's help to make my goal (just kidding, sort of). Two sons are married, and well on the way. We're almost half way to the goal, with one son still to become married.
Am I selfish? It's not just for ME, but for THEM that I want all these grandchildren. and it's for the future of America, our world, and the Kingdom of God on earth.
Some may ask why would I want to fill my life with all those little kids again, when I spent 20 years rearing 3 sons? Don't I want to enjoy time for myself in retirement?
What better way to spend my later years, than by giving back, learning and growing alongside these precious lives?! Because they are SO IMPORTANT to their parents, and to God and to the world and to ME.
We need to recapture our vision for LIFE. Children. Human children (some people refer to their pets as their children. This kind of bugs me, but I try not to dwell on it). Our souls need the influence of childlike curiosity and insatiable desire to learn and grow.
The other day, my 1 year old granddaughter decided to walk on her own. I was so excited and encouraged her across the patio to me. She was all smiles. So sweet. And as I rocked her to sleep for her nap, she refused to sleep. Instead she looked at me, then pointed to almost every object in the room, looked back at me, wanting me to tell her what it was she pointed to. She is fascinated by life. She wants to learn what everything is called. She wants to talk. She wants to walk. She wants to play. She wants to grow. She wants to learn. She wants to do what her older siblings do. God has placed curiosity in her. She is amazing. They are all amazing. Can we see it? Can we celebrate it?
Why do we fill our lives with meaningless activities and spend our money on ourselves, when we could be investing in these precious lives, who, by the way, want to LOVE US?! They are full of innocent, accepting, forgiving, passionate love.
Brings me to tears, how much my grandchildren love us. They want to hug us hello, and hug us good-bye, and play with us and show us every thing they are learning.
What is wrong with our culture, that wants to kill innocent growing babies in the womb, before they can experience any of what I've just described?
We love death because we don't love God. We rebel against God and listen to lies from the enemy of our souls.
God loves life. Man who rebels against God, and kills his own offspring must love death. Scripture says, "But he that sinneth against Me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate Me love death." Proverbs 8:36
She wrongs her own soul, who kills what grows inside her. Choose God. Choose repentance. Choose forgiveness. Choose life. Choose love. There's so much JOY and HAPPINESS in loving and receiving God's love.
