I'm reading about the end of Moses' life, this day. He was 120 years old when he died. Scripture says, "His eye was undimmed, and his vigor unabated." Deuteronomy 34:7 ESV
Interesting words. His eye was undimmed. The eye is the light to the soul. Moses kept his eyes on God. He was full of God's light.
And his vigor unabated. 1828 Webster's Dictionary definition of VIGOROUS: Powerful; strong; made by strength, either of body or mind;
Love that!
Moses didn't grow weak with age - he maintained focus and strength. He knew God. He met with God. He obeyed and trusted God. God was his strength. That encourages me.
Moses' strength reminds me of the promise for us, found in Psalm 92:12-14, "The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. They are planted in the house of the Lord; they flourish in the courts of our God. They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, to declare that the Lord is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him."
We don't have to get old and weak, especially in our minds and spirits. God designed us to keep growing stronger in Him; declaring his righteousness until we cross over into eternity.
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7
We can be ever green for eternity!
