Have you ever noticed how often God asks questions, in the Bible?
Reading Exodus 4 and Matthew 18 today. Moses is afraid the people won't believe God appeared to him. God says to Moses, "What is that in your hand? Then God proceeds to do miracles right before Moses' eyes. You'd think Moses would be willing, at that point, to do anything God asked, knowing how great God is. But no. He still doesn't get it. Instead, he complains about not being adequate to carry out God's will. God must sigh at our unbelief. It was't about Moses. It was about GOD! He is great and He can use anyone He wants. No matter how small. No matter how humble.
But Moses can only see himself. Not God's greatness. So, God continues...and patiently asks, "Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord?" Then He instructs Moses what to do and through Whose Power he is to do it. Wow!
Let us learn a lesson from Moses. "Trust and obey, for there's no other way, to be happy in Jesus, than to trust and obey," says the hymn.
God can be trusted. He will guard and guide you! Praise Him.
